01 / The founder
Founded by someone
who studied the craft.
The Index Studio was founded by Benjamin Creanor, a Bachelor of Film (Post Production) graduate. That training matters. It means every edit, every grade and every sound mix is approached with a film first eye, not a template or a shortcut.
Benjamin started the studio to bridge the gap between high end post production and the people who actually need it, creators, businesses, agents and filmmakers who want their work to look the part without navigating a maze of agencies.
What began as a one person operation has grown into a trusted post production partner for clients across Australia, the UK, the US and beyond. The studio has delivered 300 plus projects, driven 150 million plus views across client content, and earned selections at film festivals on four continents.

A film first
mindset.
Every project starts with the story. Whether it is a property walkthrough, a podcast episode or a short film, we ask what the footage is trying to say and how the edit can make that clearer. Pacing, rhythm, shot selection and sound are all tools in service of the narrative, not decoration.
That film school background shows in the work. We think about screen direction, the flow of an interview, the emotional beat of a cut. We do not just assemble footage, we shape it into something that holds attention from the first frame to the last.

Based in Australia,
working worldwide.
The studio is based in Victoria, Australia, but our clients are everywhere. London, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, Melbourne, Ballarat and small towns in between. Remote work is not an afterthought for us, it is how we have always operated.
We use async review tools like Frame.io and Vimeo so you can leave frame accurate comments on your own schedule, wherever you are. If you are in Greater Melbourne or the Ballarat region and prefer to meet in person, we can make that happen too.
